Lt. Gen Gaby Askenazi

31 May, 2010
Doctors do not deal with politics. We treated all of our patients with the same professionalism and the most advanced medical expertise were admitted to everyone.

-Prof. Rafael Beyar, Director-General, Rambam Hospital

IDF Chief-of-Staff Lt.-Gen. Gaby Ashkenazi visited three IDF soldiers at Rambam Hospital that were wounded during the raid on the flotilla en route to Gaza.

The three commando soldiers were hospitalized in the Surgical Unit. The IDF Chief-of-Staff wished the soldiers a speedy recovery and praised their actions.  He told them that having been wounded in the Yom Kippur War, and hospitalized at Rambam, he knows they are in good hands.

Lying hospitalized in a parallel surgical unit at RHCC are six of the foreign activists that were on the boat.  The six injured arrived at Rambam and are described as being in critical condition.  Some of the injured arrived with bullet wounds and underwent life- saving surgical procedures performed by the Trauma team.
