On July 21st, Canadian Friends of Rambam Hospital (CFRAM) teamed up with Hillel of Greater Toronto to organize a blood drive. Jewish students and young professionals from across the Greater Toronto Area rolled up their sleeves; Canadian Blood Services reports that up to 54 patients will receive life-saving blood due to our efforts. |

We treated all of our patients with the same professionalism and the most advanced medical expertise were admitted to everyone. -Prof. Rafael Beyar, Director-General, Rambam Hospital IDF Chief-of-Staff Lt.-Gen. Gaby Ashkenazi visited three IDF soldiers at Rambam Hospital that were wounded during the raid on the flotilla en route to Gaza. The three commando soldiers were hospitalized in the Surgical Unit. The IDF Chief-of-Staff wished the soldiers a speedy recovery and praised their actions. He told them that having been wounded in the Yom Kippur War, and hospitalized at Rambam, he knows they are in good hands. |

Parking Garage Becomes 1,750-bed Emergency Hospital |

Written by Joanne Hill Monday, 17 May 2010 TORONTO – The Canadian Friends of Rambam Health Care Campus (CFRAM) recently hosted an improv theatre with a twist: the stage was the underground parking garage at Greenwin Square, and the actors portrayed doctors and patients at a real-life underground parking garage/trauma hospital currently being built in Haifa. The audience was made up of about 200 surprised guests who, while enjoying food and drinks at the CFRAM fundraiser, suddenly heard an announcement, first in Hebrew and then in English, informing them that the emergency hospital was now ready and guides would help them calmly and safely go downstairs. |

Rambam Responds in Emergency Situation! |

Sirens sounded across Israel on Wednesday morning May, 26th 2010 as part of a massive air raid drill aimed at practicing how to deal with multiple casualties from large-scale rocket attacks. At Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa, medical personnel were on high alert as exercises with civilians and military personnel assessed Rambam's readiness in dealing with conventional and non-conventional missile attacks on the Israeli population.
